How to get a job in the United Nations? — UN employment and experience

I am always fascinated to reply a question of “How to get a job in the United Nations (UN)?” or “any engagement with UN?” when someone asks with passion. I always wonder seeing shining face of my front while replying answer. And I wish them to try the best at their end. My answers are following.

Before applying for any assignment to the UN, going through few literature would fuel to understand UN organization which is still complex to understand within few years of experience too. “UN Basic Facts” (http://un.info.np/Net/NeoDocs/View/1774) is one of the core books of UN which provides comprehensive information and insightful fundamental organizational structure. Six organs of UN – “Trusteeship Council, Security Council, General Assembly, Economic and Social Council, International Court of Justice and Secretariat – and its agencies – like UNDP, UNICEF and etc – are major understanding of organization chart which is very important to know while applying for any job. UN system is represented by Secretariat which is governed by UN Secretary-General with offices and departments.

Hello, Namaste. I am Raj from Kathmandu. We are here in Ghandruk wearing Gurung dress. Gurung dress is unique and has distinct features. It’s like a world’s biggest pocket. It goes here and goes around and comes out here. Here, we can store books, electronic gadgets and many more. Here, we might dress differently, we might eat differently but we are in the world to face problems together because we live here together and we have to flight together. So, let’s face together, let’s live together and live happily. Thank you!

Yet researching for an answer. #Lost in #Transition. (On a way to Ghandruk)

GHANDRUK, 26 March 2017 – This second trail of Ghandruk with family and kids opens new thought of enjoyment and happiness in my family. The new thought is about how to feel you in nature – Himalayan, village and new way of expression of locals. We started our trail from Hari Chowk of Pokhara by bus to Nayapul of core trail to Ghandruk.

This trail to Ghandruk with kids was in my mind when I was in Ghandruk on foot of 7-8 hours for a research with my colleague in December 2011. It came to reality in March 2017. We had zip vehicle for 3.5 hours from Hari Chowk to the place before 1 hour on foot of main Ghandruk area.  We started our journey with full energy.

TANAHU, Friday, 24th March 2017 – She got a fish. She got it because team had contributed their passion and efforts for a possibility which was equally distributed as they perceived. Finally, the possibility turned into reality on her hand and she got a fish.

I found this scene when I was in traveling with my kids and wife nearby at “Ghasi Kuwa” of Tanahu district of Nepal. The “Ghasi Kuwa” is one of the inspirational source of Aadhikabi (Ancient Poet ) Bhanu Bhakta Acharya who translated Ramayana into Nepali language. And obviously this observation was one of the inspiring scenes for me too.

Informing public in gentle way: A glimpse of software engineering for Queue e-mail agent

forsmall-Qmail-console

Visualization is important phenomena of working with initial design of software especially while working with customizable and user defined variables during runtime. Three years back in 2013 while I was designing digital repository, I was really excited to make a model of full phase of digital space to store all digital kinds. I designed the repository associating many long run aspects, i.e. knowledge management, digital publishing, open data, web services, and data mining with artificial intelligence (AI) for auto e-mail for promotional activities. In 2017, I came up with Queue e-mail Agent (named – Qmail) to fuel promotional activities of digital repository in ethical and gentle manner.

A Trail through Lamma Island

rmb-on-beachLAMMA ISLAND, HONG KONG, 21st Feb 2017 – Splendid journey to Hong Kong was nailed one year before in office’s picnic in Gokarna Resort. I was reluctant to make this trip due to prejudice about Hong Kong and its people in such a way that I was on my bed at home till 8:30pm whereas I had to report airport at 9:00pm. Airport is 15 minutes walking distance from my home. I was feeling that this trip was obligation rather than my own interest. But, after this trip I knew it was a call of dragon warriors. I would regret if I would not make this trip. It is meaning trip because a quest of trip made me clear how much I was wrong to Hong Kong and its people. I am thankful to those all local people and their consideration with graceful behavior. I found everyone is awesome and extensively natural with eternal feelings and the places, I have been like Lamma Island, were successful to mesmerize my trip for a long till the end.
